Introduction

It is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to open an account or to place a bet with Punt For Your Club Limited (the ‘Company’).

We take our responsibilities in this area very seriously and carry out stringent age verification checks on all customers.

We have put into effect this policy which is designed to prevent underage gambling and to monitor effectiveness.

All account holders must be verified to be 18 years of over.

Roles and Responsibility

Ultimate responsibility for the implementation of this policy rests with the Directors of the Company, who have appointed the Director of Monitoring & Compliance to be responsible for the production and maintenance of the Age Verification policies and procedures, as well as provision of any necessary advice and guidance.

It is the role and responsibility of the Managing Director to communicate and arrange for the implementation of this policy and its related procedures.

It is the responsibility of the Director of Sales & Marketing, with oversight of all customer support representatives, to adhere to this policy and its procedures.

It is the responsibility of the compliance department to audit the policy and its implementation to ensure compliance with all licensing regulations.

Enforcement

Any person included within the roles and responsibilities section of this policy, who fails to comply fully with the policies and procedures set out in this document and any amendments thereto, shall be subject to disciplinary and/or legal action in accordance with the Company's disciplinary procedures.

Policy

It is the Company's policy that we will:

  • Use various methods to try and detect and deter children and young people from registering
  • Use various methods to ensure responsible marketing and business practices which protect the interests of children and young people
  • Provide age verification training
  • Automatically run verification checks on all registrations
  • Contact any customers that fail the automated verification check

Procedures

Enforcement

We have contracted with AgeChecked Limited to run registration data verification checks on all registrations. AgeCheck specialise in age verification and provide integrated verification at the point at which a customer registers.

This verification process is triggered immediately upon submission of the customer registration form.

Customers are advised within our terms and conditions that for security reasons their personal data may be sent to a third party for verification purposes.

Manual Age Verification Checks

Any customer who fails an age verification check will immediately have their account suspended following which, they will receive an e-mail advising them that their account has been suspended.

If a customer does not send proof of age their account will remain closed until suitable documentation is received.

Should no response be received from the customer their account shall remain suspended and after 12 months the account will be closed.

Customers Under 18

If a customer contacts the customer support centre and admits or alludes to being under the age of 18, the customer's account will be suspended immediately. The customer support representative should request the customer e-mail their photographic identification as soon as possible.

Once all requested documentation has been provided and verified as belonging to someone under the age of 18, all betting transactions will be immediately reversed and any deposit refunded. The refund will be returned to the original payment method used to place the initial deposit. Any losses will be written off by the Company.

We advise all participants within the responsible gambling and terms and conditions sections of our website that any under the age of 18 found using our services will have their winnings forfeited and their account closed with immediate effect. If it is past the time that bets can be made void an adjustment is made to the account to reinstate any losses.

A customer who refuses to forward the necessary identification documents to the customer support centre will not have their deposits returned until they prove they are underage and the customer account will remain suspended. In some circumstances the underage player will produce identification proving they were under 18 when they opened the account but are now over 18, in these instances the deposits made before the customer was 18 will be reversed and a decision will be made by senior management on a ‘case by case' bases as to whether the account will remain open.

We recognise that the internet is readily available in many homes, as a result, we must work together to protect children from underage gambling.

Tips for protecting children and young people:

  • Keep your username, password and deposit details out of reach.
  • Don't save password or use auto-fill on your computer.
  • Install website blocking software such as NetNanny, GamBlock and CyberPatrol.
  • Educate your children about the legality and potential damage of underage gambling if you suspect they might be considering gambling.
  • Limit the amount of time your children spend online.

Every page displays a “no under 18's” sign

We are satisfied that a credit card issuer always performs an age verification check, and a credit card user will be over the age of 18. However, we are mindful that other payment methods such as Debit Card, Maestro, Laser Card and certain e-wallets are less likely to have involved an age verification check. All customers are age verified upon registration through AgeChecked.

A prospective customer must provide their date of birth and other necessary registration details on our registration page. It is not possible for a date of birth under the age of 18 to be entered onto our registration page. Also customers must acknowledge they are over the age of 18 by ticking a box before an account will be created.

It is an express term and condition of opening an account that a customer must be at least the age of legal majority or (if higher) over any specified age threshold required in betting or gaming in or from the jurisdiction in which they reside.

We regularly review our age verification systems and attempt to implement all reasonable improvements that may be made as technology advances and as information improves.

We do not deliberately provide facilities for gambling in such a way as to appeal particularly to children or young persons, for example by reflecting or being associated with youth culture.
